This track has two contrasting sections. It could be played different ways. Have the children hold the edges of a large piece of blue fabric and go up and down with the waves. For the stormy section the movements will be aggressive and large; for the sunny day they will be gentle.
This could also be played with a stretchy band or instruments.
The first bars of this songs pays tribute to Hungarian Dance no 5 (Brahms) which has wonderful contrasting passages that I liken to the sea on a stormy or sunny day.
lyrics
It's a stormy, stormy day,
The wind is blowing me away,
The waves go up, up up.
The waves go up, up, up.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
The waves go down, down, down, down,
Washing all around.
It's a sunny, sunny day,
The sun is shining while I play,
The waves go up, up up.
The waves go up, up, up.
Splash! Splash! Splash!
The waves go down, down, down, down,
Washing gently round.

I love music - I love kids! Little Minstrels all began with a few classes at a preschool in 2005. Since then it has grown
into my part-time job and full-time passion, developing my own teaching programme and writing and recording songs to suit. These songs have stood the test of time and have been loved by the preschoolers I teach. I hope your chidren enjoy them too!...more
