This track is designed to be a 'play-a-long' track.
Of course you can make up your own way to play it, but here are my suggestions:
The instrumental sections can be played by each instrument or they could be combined.
The royalty is played by the drums playing the rhythm of the word 'royalty'.
The knights are played by the woodblocks (or sticks) playing the rhythm 'gallop-a gallop-a'.
The peasants are played on the maracas, and the triangles play the part of the bell-ringers, playing on every repetition of the word 'bell'.
As this is a one-chord song, a simple accompaniment can be played on Boomwhackers, chime bars or a xylophone playing D and A.
lyrics
The kings and queens are royalty,
Royalty, royalty.
The kings and queens are royalty,
Play the royal drum.
The knights protect the people,
People, people,
The knights protect the people,
Gallop-a here they come.
The peasants work and grow the food,
Grow the food, grow the food,
The peasants work and grow the food,
All day in the sun.
The bell-ringer rings the bells,
Rings the bells, rings the bells,
The bell-ringer rings the bells,
When the day is done.

I love music - I love kids! Little Minstrels all began with a few classes at a preschool in 2005. Since then it has grown
into my part-time job and full-time passion, developing my own teaching programme and writing and recording songs to suit. These songs have stood the test of time and have been loved by the preschoolers I teach. I hope your chidren enjoy them too!...more
